5 out of 5 stars A Classic Jem   September 7, 2010
Joy23
Now, I'm typically not one to write a review on a product, much less a cd. often times I would look to other people's reviews, and once I receive a product that either agrees or disagrees with everyone else's outlook, I would just move on to other things. There hasn't been a product since now that has compelled me to write a review on a product that warrants much praise.

The Element of Freedom has an exceptional blend of R&B while still being classy. Many R&B music and other urban types of music styles appear to focus on mainly intimacy and "making love in the club"(yes, I'm talking to you Usher), which can put off people like me who like the beat, rhythm, and soul of R&B but are put off by the blatantly obscene nature of the lyrics.

With inspirational songs such as "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart" and "Wait Til You See My Smile," which explores finally getting over a relationship and being truly happy, and "Un-thinkable" which shows the courage and risk it takes to pursue and accept love, Alicia Keys shows that she's not an artist looking to cash in on what's trendy with pop culture, but rather seeks to explore the deeper intricacies of love and inspire others through her music.

Paula Bradley (Decatur, Georgia United States)
This CD is better than her last one but this one has about 3 good hits and then some good but not great fillers.

4 out of 5 stars Great singer and good album   August 12, 2010

Not much to say. I enjoy her music and it's good album to listen to.

5 out of 5 stars Alicia's best so far   August 6, 2010

I've got all of Alica Keys' albums, but I really took my time to get this one. I thought her previous album, As I Am, was a bit cozy and kinda boring for what I've come to expect of Alicia. Finally, I saw her at the Essence Music Festival this year and she blew me away. I got the album and I wish I'd bought it sooner. I listen to it all that time.
